Non-religious (Atheist) Funeral
If the honoree was an Atheist, Humanist, or not a follower of
any religion, ceremonies or services can take on a number of forms.
These memorial services focus on celebrating the person's life, and
giving family and friends a chance to grieve together.
Because there are no rituals connected to a nonreligious
service, pretty much anything goes: expect inspirational readings,
anecdotes and stories, favorite songs and poems, even video
testimonials. Family, friends and acquaintances could be asked to
share their favorite memories with others in attendance.
If the service is taking place in a funeral home, call ahead and
ask the funeral director for information about the service.
